Treatment of A Binge Eating Disorder 

Abstract

Binge eating disorder is characterized by compulsive overeating accompanied by a sense of loss of control. It is the most common eating disorder, causing serious physical and emotional consequences and limitations for those who suffer from it. The following is the treatment of a clinical case, aiming to reduce the clinical symptoms presented by a 30-year-old patient diagnosed with Binge Eating Disorder. The methodology used was Brief Strategic Psychotherapy, an integrative model. The results showed that remission of clinical symptoms was achieved. In conclusion, the therapeutic intervention demonstrated efficacy in the treatment of this disorder, achieving complete remission of the clinical symptoms within 14 sessions.
